Nakitong’o, 10th May 2021– A week-long exercise of livestock branding targeting Lokipoto and Nakitong’o areas of Turkana West Sub-County has been completed. Over 1600 livestock which included cattle and donkeys were branded by a joint team of officers drawn from the County Veterinary Services directorate, National Government and Lotus Kenya Action for Development organization (LOKADO).
Reports from the department of Livestock Production and stakeholders indicate that approximately 4,193,462 goats and sheep are at risk of being affected by the prolonged drought being experienced in the county.
