OIL WRANGLES IN TURKANA WEST SUB-COUNTY
Turkana county governor Josphat Nanok has directed Turkana West Sub-county political leadership to reconstitute the Community Liaison Committee working with CEPSA oil company within 12 days or else will disband it.
The political interference in the running of Community Liaison Committee has been the major cause of protests in the recent days in the area that has paralyzed the operations of the investor company.
The drilling operations of CEPSA-a Spanish Integrated Oil drilling company in Turkana west has been delayed due to political and individual interests of political leadership and management of Community Liaison Committee.
The governor also told the CEPSA Oil team and Turkana west leaders present at a meeting in Lokichoggio to collapse the construction of the four water pans to 2 for water quality, suitability and sustainability.
CEPSA company is doing a drilling for oil exploration at Nasinyono and Nanaam.
